Patrick Thistle briefly joined the band on drums in 1994, filling in for Peely Wally Man who was absent undertaking a pilgrimage to the Shrine of St. Andgreavsie*. Patrick first met Alfie Noakes when they were both astronauts and it is thought that the zero gravity is responsible for his unique drumming style and his belief that he could achieve unpowered human flight.
Pictured below in a previous band Alfie Noakes and Patrick Thistle are second and third from the left respectively. Click on the thumbnail to see the bigger version.

Patrick's real name was Keith Loutit and he was tragically killed in a car accident several years ago. He was a great pal of all the band members and a truly gifted drummer. I knew him personally since age 13 and we did a lot of growing up together. He was in my first band and we shared a lot of experiences and adventures. I owe him a lot more than I could ever explain on this page. Cheers mate. Alfie Noakes

*St. Andgreavsie is the Patron Saint of luminous drummers and has a small monastery high in the mountains of Tibet, made entirely of Walnut Whips.
